Volunteer Dee-Anne Radke told the Leader why she is a volunteer at two sporting clubs and why she thinks it's vital to the community.

“I am very passionate about volunteering,” says Dee-Anne Radke, “I volunteer at netball and I also volunteer here [soccer]”

She was pouring drinks for the fans at the Biloela Valleys Football Club Saturday.

She said she was excited to see the number of players increase this year after COVID-19 restrictions.

“It should be an excellent season for soccer. Hopefully with COVID-19 on the decrease it will make for an easier season for all the volunteers,” Ms Radke said, but she emphasised the importance volunteers have on such organisation.

“I give as much as I can cause at the end of the day without volunteers, you don’t have sports or committees, and I want to ensure that my son and any other child can play a sport if they choose to,” she said.

Soccer season will be starting in the next two weeks, and though numbers are strong, the team could always use more volunteers and players.
