Drunk Driver rolls car off Mullers Road
Over the weekend an intoxicated teenager rolled his car off Mullers Road.
Residents of Mullers Road were shocked to find a four-wheel-drive totalled out-front of their home near Thangool.
The driver, 17, was found injured in the vehicle just after 2 am on Saturday, February 20.
Police say the inexperienced driver was both speeding and intoxicated.
He had been at a private party prior to driving, police are awaiting blood test results as a part of their investigation.
The vehicle rolled multiple times, coming to a stop 60 metres from the road in a paddock.
The parents say they agree with Emergency Services sentiment that young adults need to be taught greater road safety awareness.
Police urge young people not to drive while intoxicated and to take responsibility for others who may be considering driving under the influence.
In a statement, Biloela Police said “young people who see one of their friends who is intoxicated intending on driving to take their keys from them.”.
“Anyone intending on drinking alcohol at a function or party are encouraged to plan how they are going to get there and back,” a spokesperson said.
